Sarah Collins

I am a Master of Social Work student completing my clinical internship with Advanced Practice Mental Health and Wellness. I bring an interdisciplinary perspective to behavioral health through 22 years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse, a bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavioral Science from the University of Arizona Global Campus, and extensive experience working with youth and families, and mental health clinicians.

My primary clinical focus is trauma-informed therapy and treatment. I am passionate about providing compassionate, person-centered care that recognizes the connection between physical health, mental health, relationships, and life experiences. My clinical interests include anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, stress management, emotional development, and helping individuals build healthy coping skills and resilience.

I believe each person brings unique strengths, experiences, values, and cultural perspectives to the therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a supportive, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to work toward meaningful change. I value collaboration, safety, trust, and equitable access to mental health resources for individuals, families, and communities.

As a guiding reminder, I value Aristotle’s words: “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” This reflects my belief that self-awareness can support healing, growth, and personal development. Through my MSW internship, I look forward to continuing to develop my clinical skills while supporting children, youth, adults, families, and communities as they navigate challenges and work toward improved mental and emotional wellness.

Outside of work and school, I enjoy spending time with my family, walking along the beach, listening to music, hiking, traveling, and finding quiet moments that restore balance and calm.
