Mercedes Desilets

Hi! My name is Mercedes Desilets, and I have the pleasure of completing my internship
at Advanced Practice and Mental Health. I’m currently working towards my LPC (Licensed
Professional Counselor) through Grand Canyon University. I’m originally from Fallston,

Maryland, but have called Myrtle Beach my home for 13 years.
As a counselor, I focus on person centered approaches to promote overall wellbeing. I
take pride in helping all individuals overcome life’s challenges to obtain physical, social and
emotional balance through personalized planning. I specialize in working with children, but I am

passionate about supporting clients of all ages and backgrounds.
In my free time I enjoy spending time at the beach with my family, running and
exploring new places. Professionally, I have a background in special education with 11 years’
experience in the public-school setting. I enjoy working with kids and adults with a wide range
of needs and from diverse backgrounds. Together we can empower minds, strengthen lives and

build balance.
