Mary Debias, Intern

I am an advanced year social work student at the University of South Carolina. I began my internship with Advanced Practice Mental Health and Wellness in the Fall of 2025. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Development with a concentration in Counseling from Arizona State University in 2024.
I was born and raised in the Finger Lakes of Western, NY, and spent several years in Louisville, Kentucky (Go Cards!) before making my way to Myrtle Beach to be closer to family (and the ocean of course!).
As a registered yoga teacher, I incorporate mindfulness and movement to empower clients to break through mental barriers to develop deeper awareness and grounding in their bodies. Rather than treating self-care as one-size-fits-all, I help clients discover what genuinely supports them—practices that feel sustainable, authentic, and aligned with their goals.
My approach emphasizes helping clients rewrite harmful narratives, strengthen boundaries, and build confidence alongside specific goals to move toward the life they want. I also focus on navigating relationship challenges and improving communication skills.
I am passionate about working with individuals 15 years of age and up, who are navigating anxiety and life transitions or seeking help with emotional regulation, challenges with self-worth or relationships. I strive to create a grounded and supportive space where clients can better understand themselves, recognize their strengths, and find peace in their thoughts and emotions.
