Maggie Tobin, Intern

I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology with a concentration in Forensics from Coastal Carolina University in 2022. I am currently in the advanced year of my Master of Social Work (MSW) program at the University of South Carolina and am projected to graduate in May 2027. I have 12 years of experience working with and leading children and adolescents in various settings. I completed my Generalist practicum at Socastee Elementary School in the Rehabilitative Behavioral Health Services department, where I gained valuable experience supporting children’s behavioral, emotional, and social needs in a school-based environment. I currently work as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children with autism.

I strive to empower individuals by helping them recognize their strengths, build confidence, and develop skills that support their overall well-being. I believe in creating a supportive and welcoming environment where individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered. I particularly enjoy working with children to strengthen their emotional and social skills while helping them develop tools they can carry with them as they grow.

Originally from Massachusetts, I have called South Carolina home for the past six years. Outside of work and school, I enjoy reading, crocheting, and watching television and movies. Creativity is also an important part of my work with children, and I often incorporate arts and crafts into therapy sessions to encourage self-expression, support emotional regulation, and reinforce the importance of self-care. I value meaningful connections, lifelong learning, and continued personal and professional growth, and I look forward to continuing my journey in the social work field while supporting individuals across different stages of life.
