James Garvey
Jim Garvey is a Licensed Professional Counselor who serves as a Clinical Supervisor at APMH. After attending Brockport State, Webster University, and Long Island University and receiving his M.A. in counseling, he has worked in the clinical field for 33 years.
Jim is a National Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, specializing in trauma, anxiety, depression, the autism spectrum, and special needs for ages 5 and up.
He has six children, as well as three dogs and three cats. In his spare time, he likes to go to the movies, or go hiking or swimming. He also loves coaching basketball and track and field.
Jim’s favorite part about his job is “making a difference in someone’s life,” his favorite quote is, “Know thyself,” and he believes the most important thing in his work is “[being] very respectful to your client.”
