Laura Crawford

Laura Crawford, LISW-CP, is the owner and leader of Advanced Practice Mental Health & Wellness of South Carolina, a multi-location mental health practice serving communities across the Pee Dee Region and beyond. Since acquiring and rebranding the practice in 2023, Laura has helped expand access to therapy, medication management, family support, and community-based mental health services.

Laura earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Clinical Counseling from Capella University and her Master’s in Social Work from Ohio University. She has advanced training in trauma-informed care, attachment trauma, Polyvagal Theory, school refusal, ADHD treatment, personality disorders, and Internal Family Systems.

Laura provides trauma-informed care to clients across the lifespan, with a clinical focus on nervous system regulation as a pathway to healing, emotional safety, and improved stress response. Her areas of specialization include supporting first responders, strengthening family systems, working with children experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges, assisting executives navigating high stress and burnout, and helping adults adjust following significant medical events.

Laura is also the founder of Blue Skies Counseling and Family Services and the author of Calm Kids, Confident Caregivers. Her work is deeply shaped by her professional experience, community partnerships, and personal journey as a mother of nine, including children adopted from foster care.

Through her clinical work, leadership, writing, and training programs, Laura is committed to strengthening families, supporting children with complex needs, and expanding compassionate mental health care throughout South Carolina.
