Danielle Mahaffey
Danielle has lived in the Myrtle Beach area for the majority of her life. She currently resides in Longs, SC with her husband, their one year old daughter and their five dogs. Danielle graduated from Francis Marion University with a BS in psychology and from Southern New Hampshire University with a MA in mental health counseling. Danielle has great experience working with troubled families and teenagers. She worked for the department of social services as an investigator for four years. From there she began her counseling career at Shoreline Behavioral Health. While employed there she received an abundance of education on substance abuse and counseled on topics such as anger management, parenting classes and teen substance use.
Currently, Danielle is a counselor within Horry County Schools and loves every minute of it. Since beginning her counseling career, Danielle has favored working with teens and young adults as that is a very critical time in life. More and more teens and young adults are seen with anxiety and depression than ever before. Creating a safe place to share their thoughts and feelings is the main goal in sessions.
After being pregnant and being diagnosed with post-partum anxiety, Danielle has also seen the importance of counseling for moms and moms to be.
Seeing a counselor can be very scary and overwhelming at first. With a warm and non-judgmental counseling style, Danielle looks forward to doing her best to meet her clients needs.
